Telephone Lines

Will there be any loss of transfer during the transfer process?

No, your telephone service will change over without any interruption; all you will notice is a reduction in your telephone bill. All transfers are made on a "like for like" basis, so you can expect to keep exactly the same services you currently have.

Can I be assured of good call quality?

We only work with hardware which has been put through rigorous testing so we can guarantee call quality. All our cards come with echo cancellation modules to ensure quality over PSTN connections. With VoIP, call quality depends on the quality of your Internet connection and we can advise you on this area.

frequently asked questions
Broadband

What is Broadband?

Broadband is a fast, reliable internet service. With a Broadband connection, you pay a monthly fee and you will be connected to the internet 24 hours a day.

What are the benefits of Broadband?

  • Broadband is always on. There's no waiting for connections or costly investments in multiple modems
  • It has a fixed price per month, so you can budget accordingly
  • It's relatively easy to install (depending on how many PCs require broadband access)
  • It won't tie-up your phone line, so you can talk and surf
  • It's exceptionally fast - up to 40 times faster than dial-up - and you can choose the broadband option best suited to your business

Will I have to have a new line installed for Broadband?

No. ADSL can run on your existing landline provided that your line is capable of supporting ADSL and there are no incompatible products or services already on your line.

Will I get the optimum speed from day one of Broadband activation?

Once your Broadband is activated, it takes 10 days for the speed and the connection to stabilise at your local exchange. During this time, you will notice the speed of the broadband fluctuating. Once the stabilisation period is over, the speed settles down, and gets to the maximum possible through your exchange.

frequently asked questions
VOIP

What is VoIP?

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology enables you to make and receive telephone calls over a broadband Internet connection instead of over a traditional phone line.

What are the benefits of VoIP?

  • Reduced local and long-distance charges
  • One network to manage for both voice and data, instead of two
  • Reduced travel costs, thanks to online conferencing and easy to use video calls and other collaboration tools
  • Easily make additions, moves, and changes to the phone system as needed
  • Employees have more ways to stay connected and customers can reach them more easily
  • Take all of your phone system's features with you for use at home, at the office, or on the road

Is VoIP stable & reliable enough to use in my office?

VoIP has already been around for many years and has now become an attractive alternative to traditional PSTN connections. We however realise that your phone system is a key component of your business and must be reliable. This is why we encourage customers who can not guarantee that their Internet connection will be stable to have a fall back solution such as a PRI or BRI connection.

Do I have to use VoIP?

Our system supports a full range of telecommunications protocols and VoIP protocols such as SIP and IAX are just two of them. If you do not wish to use VoIP or do not even have broadband our system can still meet your needs.
